![]() It may have been the most successful cheesy scene this show has ever done. After Kaylie announces to the world that she has an eating disorder, they all stand before a mirror and share the same tube of lipstick as if putting their armor on before battle. They talked it through and Kelly admitted she wanted to be a part of the team, Lauren came around to trusting Sasha, Payson realized that despite his earlier rejection, Max really does love her, not Lauren which gave her the confidence she needed to kick some ass in the finals and Kaylie decided to reveal her anorexia. Kaylie (Josie Loren) puts on her armor of lipstick before the final round.Īfter the disastrous first round, Sasha locked the girls in a room to work out their issues. Meanwhile, Payson realized that all of her family’s financial hopes rested on her medaling at World’s to impress the “Grrrl Bar” people and getting the sponsorship bonus which means that she fell more than once. Knowing that the vault was her only event, Kaylie let the pressure of covering up her anorexia and Kelly Parker’s deceitful behavior (she stole Kaylie’s journal and threatened to give it to Ellen Beals but didn’t after deciding that the team’s friendship meant more to her than winning) rock her and not only did she take a big step on her first landing, she completely simplified her second vault causing the loss of points. Sasha told Lauren to give a straight beam routine and took away her sizzle causing her to stumble without her flirty demeanor to fall back on. It was nice to see the girls tense up and react to all of the various pressures in their lives during the first round. ![]() Lauren (Cassie Scerbo) prepares for her first, disastrous, beam routine.ĭespite the heavy handed story telling, I liked the scenes at World’s. She was our entrée into The Rock and my favorite girl on the team (despite how whiny she could be, her comeback story was always the most interesting to me) and it feels like something is missing without her – especially in the last scene of Payson, Lauren and Kaylie holding hands and looking at the leader board. Is Emily gone for good? I really hope not. The last couple of weeks, Emily has been missing, but I was left with the impression that she would be back before the end of the season. It was all tied up in a nice neat bow by the end of the episode. A lot happened, but none of it felt particularly consequential. During the first round of World’s (which included canned commentary from Nadia Comanici and Bart Connor) the girls were tense and basically fell apart, but they got themselves together for the second round and ended up winning gold. There was a major car accident with minor injuries, Ellen Beals’ (evil, evil woman) return, and lots of confessions all around. The girls (minus Emily) were busy getting ready for the World Championships, Kaylie was busy trying to hide her anorexia again, Payson was busy trying to save her family from financial ruin, Lauren was busy trying to get Max into bed and gain Summer and Sasha’s forgiveness for leaking the video of Payson kissing Sasha last year, and Kelly Parker was busy trying not to be a total bitch. The season finale of Make It or Break It was full of drama with a side helping of cheese.
